Enhancing the social lives of young men & women:
Thanks again Michelle :)
“Michelle has been incredibly helpful in giving me some common sense frameworks for engaging socially, as well as providing tailored feedback which has boosted my confidence. Her workshops / 1-1s are focused on building the basics for key social situations and strengthening friendships, stuff that I sort of understood but having it all laid out makes it much easier to engage more openly with others.’’
- Will - Workshop participant
“Seriously, it has been a boon for Lindsay – now when we discuss some difficulties in his network we include things that we have both learnt from the course.”
“People are commenting on how well Lindsay is communicating and engaging with them over the past few weeks – everyone can see a marked improvement in his social skills. I think the course has given Lindsay a great deal of self-confidence as well as resources to use in tackling day to day problems.”
- Suelen - Young adult parent/social coach

‘‘Would recommend to absolutely anyone and everyone 5/5’’
This course has given me life long skills that i needed to make friends, hold conversations and better my relationships between family, friends, life partners and overall this course has given me the confidence/help that i needed to achieve all of those. Michelle who taught the course is kind and compassionate in wanting everyone to thrive in their own way and she meets everyone’s needs individually which is amazing.

My family and the people at my work have noticed I am more confident and relaxed during conversations which makes me feel really happy.”
— Sherri - Course participant

“I can happily report that it works.”
“I have to thank you again for the great time I had at Friends Matter. I learnt heaps of important stuff, which often seems simple but can elude us. And, I can happily report that it works. I've found a social group who I'm very happy with, and who I think are very happy with me. You told me on the last day to count all the get-togethers I have. Well, I lost count a long, long time ago. So thanks a lot for the program, I hope this little update on me made you smile, and I hope that you'll be able to help out heaps of kids like me.”
- Adam - Teen course participant
“I now feel more confident moving forward in my life.”
“I am a young adult with aspergers who benefited a great deal from this course. It helped me to overcome anxiety in social settings. I now feel more confident moving forward in my life..”
— Brandon - Young adult course participant.
“I really enjoyed watching my daughter blossom as she learnt new skills to become a confident communicator.”
“My older daughter and sister have both commented that Sherri has had more social growth in the past 4 months than she has had in years! This is an excellent program that I highly recommend if you want results that are quick, effective and have a long lasting impact.”
- Michelle - Young adult parent/social coach
“Friends Matter made a difference to the way he engages with people.”
“My son is in his early 30’s and besides having a disability, he is also reasonably shy and reticent by nature. Friends Matter made a difference to the way he engages with people. He is better at looking them in the eye when they talk to him and he is better at asking relevant questions and trying to make conversation. He listens better now and tries to use what he hears to enter into conversations. I think the best outcome is the fact that he has gained a lot of confidence in himself and is much more willing to talk in social situations.”
— Maryanne - Young adult parent/social coach
‘‘I enjoyed learning new skills and making new friends whilst having a laugh. It was really fun”.
Flynn - Young Adult course participant.
“Her perception of social situations has improved enormously.”
“This social skills course was hugely beneficial to my teenager.
Michelle is a very astute and empathetic facilitator. She very quickly understood the specific areas where my daughter needed guidance and explained these very clearly to her and to me.
My daughter is continuing to implement the skills she learnt on the course since completing it. This to me shows the value of the course; the practise she undertook has ensured she has now acquired these skills in a more permanent way.
I would highly recommend this course and my sincere gratitude to Michelle for her expertise and support.”
- Mary - Teen parent.
“I would recommend this course to anyone with a child who has communication anxiety and difficulty socialising.”
“Michelle was very informative and as a mother who has a son with Aspergers, I too learnt a lot.”
- Kerrie - Young adult parent/social coach
‘‘The course taps into areas that are not touched on by other programs.’’
‘‘This program has more intense skill building and in-depth coaching than regular speech therapy. The course structure was great and easy to follow. Seeing Flynn develop skills and self-esteem through the guidance of Michelle was wonderful.’’
- Alison - Young adult parent/social coach
“After the first session, he looked forward to it every week”
Michelle, is professional, friendly, warm and reassuring. With her experience as a mother and a professional in the disability services industry her delivery of the PEERS® course was insightful, flexible and the kids all enjoyed her teaching and company from the start. As a parent, her mentorship and guidance with weekly phone calls was a great support to me. Both Finn and I were sad once the course ended, and hope to join other courses with Michelle in the future.
